As Director of Development for RCAH, Emily Fijol’s primary goal is to build strong relationships to support the incredible and innovative work conducted by RCAH students and faculty, to create scholarship opportunities, and to connect potential partners to RCAH’s civic engagement work. She has a special affinity for RCAH through her own transformative liberal arts education after receiving her BA in art history from Oberlin College. As a formally trained museum professional, Emily began her non-profit career working in museum education across the country, including: the Arizona Science Center in Phoenix, Arizona; Explora in Albuquerque, New Mexico; the New Mexico History Museum/Palace of the Governors in Santa Fe, New Mexico; and the Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame in Lansing. Emily came to MSU after working for the Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame as first Assistant Director and then Executive Director. Emily is originally from Oxford, Ohio and has lived in the Greater Lansing area since 2008.
