Biography

Robert L. Hill is a fifth-year Ph.D. Candidate in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education. They currently serve as Graduate Assistant in the College of Veterinary Medicine, where they assist with curriculum development and admissions, and research associate with the National Study of LGBTQ Student Success. Rob researches college curriculum, learning, and teaching with focuses on curricular revision, neoliberalism in higher education, and LGBTQ+ college students. In RCAH, Rob has assisted with evaluation of Wednesday Night Live and planning for e-portfolio implementation.

Before coming to Michigan State, Rob worked as an admissions officer for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. There, they assisted with campus-wide efforts to support LGBTQ+ students and student veterans. During their time at Rensselaer, Rob pursued graduate studies at University at Albany (M.S., Educational Administration); prior to that, they attended Skidmore College (B.S., Theatre). Outside of academia, Rob is involved in local politics and plays video games. They have also been involved with the Young Playwrights Festival and Second Stage Productions here at MSU. They live with their cat, Caps Lock, who wants to become famous on Instagram.
