An Evening of Appalachian Music & Poetry Benefit Concert

On Saturday, November 17, at 7 p.m., join the Community Council of the RCAH Center for Poetry in welcoming Elizabeth LaPrelle for an evening of Appalachian music and poetry at the Hannah Community Center. This evening will be a fundraiser for the RCAH Center for Poetry at MSU in its sixth year of offering excellent and free literary programming to the Greater Lansing area. Anita Skeen, Appalachian poet and Center for Poetry Director, will do a brief reading, and The Bard Owls will also perform.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Suggested donation of $10/adult and $5/student*. Children 12 years and younger are free.

Concessions will be available before, during, and after the concert.  Elizabeth LaPrelle will be available to sign CDs after the show and greet guests.  Books of poetry by Anita Skeen will also be available for purchasing and signing.

Elizabeth LaPrelle, Appalachian balladeer, is the Artist-in-Residence at the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities in November 2012. Learn more about LaPrelle on her website, and see videos of her performances here.
