Poetry and Art of Erasure - A Free Workshop

September 19, 2018 - 6:30pm - 8:00pm
Location:
RCAH Art Studio
362 Bogue Street
East Lansing, MI 48823
United States
An erasure is a way of creating new text (a kind of poem) by removing old text that originally surrounded the words you choose to keep. It's great fun to see the wild and surprising new texts you can create from old texts, and it's fun to gather with a group of people and erase a common text. The fun is in the camaraderie of the art studio and in the opportunity to share your work and see how everybody creates something different even when working from/with the same, original text.

You can make white-out or black-out erasures, or you can build color and art into the act of erasing. All of the erasures with color were made with the same original text.

This event is free, and all materials will be provided. To RSVP, email Cindy Hunter Morgan at chmorgan@msu.edu.
