About Reclamations Area:

The Reclamations Area is a place where matter that has ended a journey as one material is found idle by a person in need of its substance; that person reclaims it, and puts it back to use.

RCAH’s LookOut! Gallery is hosting a group of artists who are using reclaimed materials to make wearables, enhance virtual worlds, or fulfill creative yearnings.

For some creators reclamation is about material transformations; these works live in an abstract reality where the art reflects the artists’ sensibilities and their relationship to the found materials. One artist may make artworks that preserve traditions of resourcefulness, while another may reclaim the viewer into a virtual reality.

No matter how they come to it or how they use the materials that they use, these artist all are reclaiming.
