Residential College in the Arts and Humanities

Participants in this program will explore Detroit's amazingly creative organizations, spaces, traditions, and institutions.  We will visit jazz clubs, art galleries, music studios, design firms, restaurants, community arts centers, and other places that exemplify creativity.

Features include:

  • no program fee
  • a free place to stay in Detroit
  • many meals included
  • a $1,000 stipend

We will stay at Wayne State University, in the heart of Detroit's cultural district, within walking distance of many museums, galleries, restaurants, and other cultural institutions.

Students participating in this program will enroll in RCAH 395 Special Topics, which counts toward RCAH's Elective Pathway.

This program is part of DETXMSU, a pilot program in which MSU students from across the university will live together in Detroit.  Other strands of this program focus on entrepreneurship, urban planning, political science, media, and design.

Applications are due April 24, 2016. Applications will be accepted until course is full.
