RCAH Center for Poetry

The RCAH Center for Poetry encourages the reading, writing, and discussion of poetry, and creates an awareness of the place and power of poetry in our everyday lives.

A female professor, Cindy Hunter-Morgan, sits on a black couch in the Center for Poetry. Several students sit near her as she discusses a book of poetry with them.Featured among RCAH’s rich and diverse creative opportunities is the RCAH Center for Poetry, which has been creating an awareness of the place and power of poetry in our everyday lives for more than a decade. Poet laureates and illustrious storytellers routinely visit with RCAH students as part of Center for Poetry events, which include readings, slams, workshops, book sales, and poetry contests. The Center also provides internship opportunities for RCAH students, and its Wheelbarrow Books imprint publishes two major collections by established and emerging poets each year.
