MFA Acting Candidate, Michigan State University

Originally from central Arkansas, Sharon Combs previously lived and worked in New York and Los Angeles as an actor and educator before arriving in Lansing, Michigan, in fall 2018. She has been Director of Education with Shake On The Lake Shakespeare Festivaland Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre as a teacher and director, devising original productions inspired by Shakespeare with student actors of various ages over the last three years, as well as teaching workshops and specialized acting classes for various ages at Arkansas Arts Center and Sonoma Valley Shakespeare Company. She also works with Voices UnCaged, a nonprofit program that brings theatre workshops and Shakespeare performances into medium-security prisons in New York and Arkansas. 

Select previous acting credits include: Milly in "A Christmas Carol" (NTC national tour); Lady Ann in "Richard III" (Shake on The Lake Festival); Olivia in "Twefth Night" (Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre); and Elaine Harper in "Arsenic and Old Lace" (Murry's Dinner Playhouse). Currently, Sharon is an MFA acting candidate with MSU's Department of Theatre.
