Biography

Sydney Tomlinson is the Communications Assistant and Graphic Artist for the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities at Michigan State University. She is a recent graduate of MSU, with degrees in graphic design and creative advertising, art direction.

Sydney came to RCAH from MSU University Communications, where she was a social media design intern for almost two years as an undergrad. A designer already immersed in the MSU brand, she looks forward to continuing her career at her alma mater. As graphic artist in RCAH’s Communications Office, she hopes to fully immerse herself within the College, seeking new and exciting ways to communicate through design with current and prospective students, faculty, parents, alum, and others.

Previously, she interned at SET SEG, where she organized, filmed, and edited a testimonial video featuring a cohort of fellow interns in addition to delivering a comprehensive pitch to the executive team on how to expand their talent pipeline. Earlier, she headed a profile series that introduced each intern to the rest of the staff with a modern take on vintage-style baseball cards, accompanied by weekly newsletter infographics. She also worked as a graphic design assistant for the MSU Honors College.

An ex-Izzone Section Leader for Big Ten basketball at the Breslin Student Events Center, she enjoys attending basketball games, reading, thrifting, going to the movies, crocheting, or pretty much anything that fosters creativity. Sydney believes the best gifts are handmade and one-of-a-kind.
