Film Screening and Talk-Back: Redlining in Lansing

Thu, March 7, 2024 7:00 PM at RCAH Theater, Snyder Hall Terrace Level

They Even Took the Dirt is a history of redlining and the construction of I-496 through Lansing through the eyes and interviews of area residents who lived in the neighborhood that was plowed through in the 1960s. A talk-back follows with some of the folks featured in the film who lived in the neighborhood, as well as part of the team that made the film. Seize the chance to interact with local community members who lived through “Urban Renewal” and other 20th century historical phenomena that impact MSU and the greater Lansing community still today. Co-sponsored by the Historical Society of Greater Lansing.
