How did you decide on RCAH?
I chose the RCAH among MSU's academic programs because I wanted the strong sense of community that I had witnessed during the RCAH's Junior Preview Day and the chance to continue to grow my skills in all of the different fields of the arts, while experiencing and learning to understand world cultures.

What are your academic interests?
My academic interests range from physiology and anatomy, to music and dance, to Spanish and Russian, education, and philosophy. I have a particularly strong passion for studying traditional music and dances of the northern hemisphere.

What are your favorite aspects of the RCAH experience?
My favorite aspects of the RCAH stem from the beautiful relationships grown with my RCAH peers, folk music community partners affiliated with the RCAH, and the RCAH staff. I have never felt so much support and encouragement to follow my dreams and to make positive change within the world. I have also had the privilege to learn from a variety of world-class artists in residence here at the RCAH and been linked to a bounty of resources for further research and learning outside of MSU.

What are your future plans?
My future plans are somewhat open-ended; I know I will continue to pursue traditional forms of music and dance, but more than likely will accept a position with Teach for America immediately after graduation. I hope to eventually study enthnochoreology and enthnomusicology both in the states and abroad in my graduate career.

What are your hobbies and interests within and outside of RCAH?
Within the RCAH I love being a part of the RCAH Council, singing in RCAHppella, creating media projects in the LMC, being a House leader, stopping by the faculty offices with baked goods, and getting to know the amazing artists and performers who visit us, here! Outside of the RCAH, I love tutoring with the literacy group Read to Succeed, working at a coffee house and a crepes restaurant, studying old-time and Irish tunes, learning percussive dance styles, and exploring social dance genres around the state of Michigan.
