How did you decide on RCAH?
I met Julie, one of RCAH's advisors, at a career fair during my senior year of high school. I told her about my some of my interests, such as my desire to get involved with communities in new and creative ways to create positive growth, and she convinced me that RCAH is the perfect place for that (and, of course, it is!).

What are your academic interests?
I'm very interested in community engagement, helping others, and learning more about the world around me (very broad topics, I know!). That is why my double major in RCAH and Social Work (I'm focusing on the macro side) fits so well together.

What are your favorite aspects of the RCAH experience?
I really, really enjoy both RCAH's ILOs (Integrated Language Option) and the civic engagement aspect. I love that I can immerse myself in a language with the ILO, while also learning about how language plays a part in culture and community. RCAH's core value of civic engagement is near and dear to my heart. As I continue my RCAH career, I'm excited to learn more about how to go about engagement with communities in positive and beneficial ways.

What are your future plans?
As many college students say, I'm not sure yet! As I move forward with my education, I know I'll continue to learn a lot about what I like and dislike to bring some clarity to my future plans. I would love to work for a nonprofit, but I'm also thinking about a PeaceCorps pathway. There's so much that can be done with an RCAH major and you'll learn that quickly once you join the great field that is the Arts and Humanities!

What are your hobbies and interests within and outside of RCAH?
Art (specifically painting, but RCAH has helped me practice other artistic paths, such as reclamation art) and volunteering are two strong interests of mine that I am able to pursue in RCAH. Outside of RCAH, I really enjoy running, yoga, cheering on MSU in every sport possible (GO GREEN!), and spending my days relaxing at the Red Cedar Cafe.

Have you ever taken part in Study Abroad/Study Away at MSU? If so, which programs?
I haven't yet! But I’ll be traveling to Costa Rica in spring of 2017 for a semester long study aboard and I’m excited to broaden my horizons and practice my Spanish skills.
