What have you done since graduating and where are you now?
Since graduating I have been working at KinderCare Learning Center and am now in the process of preparing to leave for Ireland for a year to be an au pair.
How did RCAH prepare you for what you're doing now?
RCAH prepared me for these experiences with my civic engagement courses in which I worked a lot with kids in schools. I also have used a lot of my knowledge gained from my childhood and society pathway classes.
What were your academic interests in RCAH?
Within the RCAH, I focused most of my time working with kids and as many different people as I possibly could.
What were your favorite aspects of the RCAH experience?
My favorite aspects of my RCAH experience have really been the civic engagement courses in which we were let loose into the community to share all the great things that were happening within the walls of Snyder-Phillips.
Did you ever take part in Study Abroad/Study Away at MSU?
I studied abroad in Ireland last summer, which is what led me to my decision to go back for a year, and relax for a bit before going to get my masters in Social Work.
What words of wisdom do you have for current RCAH students?
To all current RCAH students I would simply say, take advantage of all of the opportunities you receive to work within the East Lansing and Lansing community. It can serve as a great launch into your future work within the community and allow for some really amazing connections and relationships to be formed with members in the community.
