What have you done since graduating and where are you now?
Since graduating, I earned my Master of Science degree in Educational Psychology and I'm well on my way to earning my Doctorate, both from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
How did RCAH prepare you for what you're doing now?
RCAH prepared me for graduate school by providing courses in a graduate-style seminar format and by furthering my knowledge and interest in both social justice and education
What were your academic interests in RCAH?
I was in the Childhood & Society track, and I took all classes having to do with children's literature and educational equity. I was also a double major in Psychology and earned a minor in Educational Studies.
What were your favorite aspects of the RCAH experience?
I loved the residential aspect of the college. I lived in Snyder for all three years (two as an RA), and I still rave about my experiences to this day! I also really appreciated the socially conscious community of students who are drawn to this program.
Did you ever take part in Study Abroad/Study Away at MSU? If so, which programs?
No, I didn't...and I regret it. I just had the opportunity to visit Peru and Guatemala with some of my colleagues in graduate school, and I wish I had gone sooner!
What words of wisdom do you have for current RCAH students?
Take advantage of everything that you find interesting in RCAH. There will be a time in your life when you use all of these skills and interests again!
