Biography

Jessica Watley is a first year student within RCAH pursuing a Humanities Pathway, with a double major in Environmental Studies and Management. Within her Communications internship, she assists her counterpart Maren Case in writing pieces for the RCAH newsletter and creative directory. She has been inspired by the RCAH community to embrace her creativity since her acceptance at MSU, and is involved heavily within the residential college.

As a Communications intern since the Fall of 2023, she looks forward to leaving her mark within the college through her writing and photography. It’s her dream to gain experience, as well as build life-long peer and mentor relationships throughout her time in this position as well as as a student through community involvement.

She is currently involved in Sister Circle here in RCAH, a ROOTS Scholar- an early start program run by RCAH for incoming students as well as a Dow STEM Scholar, a curriculum supporting STEM majors here at the university, and a member of the club Black Girls in Social Science. In her free time, Jess enjoys reading, journaling, playing the ukulele, and studying musical history.
