Arzelia Williams, an undergraduate student in the Residential College of Arts and Humanities who also studies social relations and policy in James Madison College, wrote for MSU Today about her experiences with art and activism in the United Arab Emirates. Williams wrote about her perceptions of the country prior to her studies there, and how they had changed throughout her visit. In the MSU Today article, she wrote, "...I expected that it would be the equivalent of backpacking in the desert with the luxury of having a nice hotel room to sleep in at night... I quickly learned that I was wrong."
